Ramzan is
the time where you leave off all the routine life and pleasures to dedicate
yourself to Allah. The month long fast isn’t just about leaving certain form of
food but also includes following rules that purify your thoughts, bring
discipline and make you a better person. This one is indeed one of the toughest
fasting I have known.

Mushroom Spinach Toasts for a healthy breakfast! #Recipe
It’s not
very long that I have started loving mushrooms for its oozing flavours. About
of couple of years back I tried on a mushroom sandwich and completely loved the
flavours. At first it was just about that particular sandwich being repeated
again and again as a snack – but slowly the mushrooms in it were given a try in
several other dishes and that is where the love started growing.

Dhaniya Panjiri for Janmashtami Bhog #Recipe
Its Janmashtami time again and we all
are pretty ready with our own way of celebrating Lord Krishna’s birthday or as
you may call it Krishna Janm. Janmashtami is observed as a pious day in our
life because it is the day when Lord Krishna was born. We make preparations for
a lot of dishes and decirations and the prime food offered to Krishna on his
birthday is Panjiri.
Panjiri is a sweet dish often referred
to as a dessert too. It is made in many variants of wheat flour, semolina,
Methi panjiri etc. but the prime ingredient used in the one offered to Lord
Krishna is Dhaniya Panjiri. The texture of the dish is like flowing sand but
the presence of ghee and a lot of dry fruits keeps it moist and soft for
eating. It is not too sweet and so one of the most enjoyed prasads in
Janmashtami!
Panjiri is a very rich and healthy
dessert perfect for anyone! It just takes a few minutes
to prepare but the
ingredients have to be kept handy. Make sure you bring the best kind of herbal
gums which we generally associate with goond ke ladoo. So ‘Goond’ has to be of
fine quality for the dish to be really great!
Ingredients
Dhaniya or Coriander powder – 100 grams
Pure Ghee – 4 tbsp
Goond or herbal gums (Sundried) – a handful
Dried coconut (grated) – 50 grams
Almonds and cashews (grated) – 2 tbsp
Powdered Sugar – 2 tbsp
Method
- Take the pure ghee in a deep pan and start cooking the dhaniya powder in it. Don’t let the flame to be too high and cook until you get a sweet smell of semi cooked dhaniya powder. Set aside and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Take another kadhai and fry the herbal gums or goond in ghee until they pop like popcorns. They will turn light in colour and almost look like popcorns. Crispy and hard! Strain and cool.
- Now take all the ingredients in one corner and start mixing them in the quantities mentioned above.
- Any ingredient can be taken in excess for want of taste. But mixing of them in this proportion will give you a mildly sweet taste of the rich dry fruits and cooked dhaniya to the optimum.
- Yes your Prasad is ready to offer and relish!
Panjiri is easy to customize and more
of ingredients can be added or deleted in want of your taste. Let me know what
variations did you try!

Chilly Tofu Recipe using Tofu from Mooz Formaggio ; #ProductReview
Hello people! I hope you are doing good and loving the food culture as much as I do. If you have been following me you would know that Mooz Formaggio had sent me a big sample to test, try and let the world know the quality and taste of their products.
I truly have been
into trying my recipes using the samples they sent me over.
So yes I tried the Chilli Tofu recipe
using the Mooz Plain Tofu because Tofu is one such ingredient which did not
impress me much and I thought of putting it under my knife first! And it did not
disappoint me!

Rice In a Cooker ~ Maa's Recipe
When I was a
kid, and had my exams on, Maa didn’t used to get much time for cooking. After
all looking after my studies and packing my bag, getting me ready took a lot of
her time. So she used to make rice in a cooker with the veggies and a little
masalas with it.
