One of the
popular Indian Desserts found in the streets style eating is the Falooda! Made
from the traditional mix of milk, ice-creams and falooda and topped with lots
of rich dry fruits and flavourings – savouring falooda is like eating up a
cherishing dream.
There is so much in one glass of falooda that it doesn’t just
fill up the tummy but fills up the soul too! Of course I am one of the fans of
falooda & each time I spot a great place which serves falooda – I get one!
When experimenting
with Roohafza syrup trying hand at Roohafza falooda is kind of taken. It is
already a popular dessert and a lot of people make roohafza falooda that adds
in a beautiful rosy touch to the otherwise plain falooda. Hence this one had to
be on the list!
After having
made ice-creams, puddings and desserts for a continuous week my freezer was
stocked up with different flavours of ice-creams and didn’t have the need to
prepare the ice-creams from sscratch for this recipe. I just picked up a
vanilla ice-cream scoop, the left over rosy roohafza ice-cream and tried to
assemble things up to make this mighty glass of falooda!
Here is the
little recipe which I think will definitely inspire you to make your own
version of falooda with different flavours too!
Ingredients:
½ cup
falooda
2 tbsp sabja
seeds (soaked overnight)
1 scoop
vanilla ice-cream
2 servings
of Roohafza rosy icecream
½ cup rabri
2 tbsp
chopped dry fruits (cashew, pistachios & almonds)
3 tbsp
roohafza
Method:
1. Take a tall
glass (300ml at least) which is to be used for serving. Start layering it up
with falooda
2. For the base
add in the falooda and then the sabja seeds. Next goes the roohafza layers.
3. Top it up
with rabri. Add a few chopped pieces of roohafza rosy ice-cream, a scoop of
vanilla and dry fruits.
4. You can
create one more stack of these layers on top of the first stack to make it even
mighty. I did this layering twice to complete the glass.
5. Decorate
with a little of dry fruits and generous helping of roohafza.
Your
roohafza falooda is ready to binge!
This is a
dessert which has to be served chilled and so the assembling is really a 2
minutes process when your ingredients are ready. I would suggest to keep the
ingredients in small bowls and keep it in fridge. When serving just assemble it
quickly and serve immediately!
