Sip Chai @ Chaayos ! #RestaurantReview

Every tea lover experiments with his/her chai when they walk out of their houses. Be it the Chaiwallas or the fast springing chai joints that are filling the Indian market in haste, a Chai-lover tries it all.
I ~ being a descendant of a family with Tea Business am in truly-deeply-madly in love with the Tea-rooms that have sprung up. Not only because they provide me experimented versions of tea, but also because they provide me with different environments and take me to their own designed era!

Chaayos ~ when I heard about it first I just went on to add it to my must-try list. There was news that this place was offering a small packet of Parle-G to every customer who ordered tea. Don’t know how true that is! But I visited this joint a few days back with my friends and sister in Connaught Place, New Delhi!

As we entered the store, the wall hangings and the desi-vibes caught our eyes. There were colourful kettles hanging from a bicycle which was put up on one wall, on the other wall there were rims of bicycle wheels decorated in a bunch. The light were hung to a height and covered with kulhads. It gave a modern-retro kind of feel with tea brewing counter ready to engage you.

We ordered one Suleimaani Chai and two Masala Chai. Masala Chai was a spicy version of our regular tea with a heavy dose of ginger, garam masala, elaichi and black pepper. Suleimaani chai happened to be a lot like liquor tea with masala-fied awesomeness. Always a pleasure to have best friends and BFF (TEA) at our side! And the best part about Chaayos is that it’s a self service place, which means a NON-INTERFERING STAFF. So be it a meet-up with your friends or working on your laptop or a get-to – you just have no one to disturb you!

My next visit was a little heavy munch on the Chai and also the Sandwiches that Chaayos offer. This time we ordered the good old Masala Chai with tulsi-adrak-elaichi-masala flavourings, Two Kulhad Chai, One Balsamico sandwich and Bun-Maska (how can one not order that with tea!). The sandwich tasted great, we had issues with the tea though. The Kulhad chai happened to be not as hot as required. And when asked to replace, the service men denied!

Concept: A tea-room with artistic chilled out atmosphere providing you a space to read that book or have a discussion with a friend over a cup of experimented tea. They serve you for about 12000 varities of tea, you can also get your tea flask delivered at home or office.

Service: It’s a self-service counter with your order being served within 5-10 minutes.

Plating: The Chai is served according to your order. Mitti ke kulhad, glass, tea-plate, tea-pot, take away packages or simply paper cups; all based on your order!

Sandwich lovers you have some fabulous flavors lined up here. I am totally going to try the much acclaimed Chocolate Sandwich which I heard about after my visit was over. *Sad face*
