Gajjak, Rewari & Chikki from Gulab 1912 : Treat your taste buds this winter!

Cold winds, knit wears and delicious food – that’s what winters are made of!

I am a little desi at heart and when it comes to munching on food in winters, the gud rewari, sweet potatoes and of course gajar ka halwa are the delights that I love dearly.. And Delhi is undoubtedly the hub of these Indian food cooked in desi style. But today it is all about the sweet chikkis and rewaris that we get at the very popular Gulab 1912 outlets spread all across the city and a lot of places in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan etc and also in Dubai UAE.

Concept: Gulab was started in the year 1912 by Lala Shivnath Rai Sumer Chand in Rohtak Haryana with a small setup of gajjak and Rewari. The taste has now traveled nations and is very popular expecially in the winters when they almost run out of stock. It has been more than 100 years and the brand is now a big name when it comes to gathering pure Indian sweets and snacks to munch on!

Ambiance: Gulab is a chain of outlets which sells sweets and snacks. They also have small snacking options right inside the outlet but it isn’t about dining! Like a sweet shop Gulab 1912 has multiple outlets in India where you can pick up boxes of your choice and walk home with happiness.

Food: Gulab 1912 or Gulab Wala is famous for their winter snack that is the gajjak, rewari, gajar ka halwa and a lot of sweets and snacks. Their range of sweet keeps alive the taste of the old Indian days and still feels fresh. I have picked the til rewari and gajjak which is a blend of pure jaggery & sesame seeds with rose flavours that leaves a heavenly taste in the mouth.

Service: As the store is about just a sweet shop, the staff is all the time busy serving people. They are courteous and attending just right.

Plating: They serve the dish in paper plates for people who want to eat it in the shop. Else the packaging of the product is mostly in half kilos and 1 kilo packets which are packed really well and can be taken places.

Price: A little on the expensive side but this is because the dry fruits and ingredients that make up the products are equally pricy.

MyPlateReview Recommends: Indulge in some sweet love at Gulab 1912 this winters to make your winter a little more enjoyable. You can choose to pick the ones I have picked, “Gur rewari” “gajjak” or even “Chikki” to treat your taste buds!

They also have the online portal to place orders and get it delivered anywhere in India! Just log on to www.gulabwala.co.in and place your orders online!
