The Perfect Sandwich experience at SanDoitchi, Powai (MUMBAI) #RestaurantReview

Sandwiches are love! I repeat this mantra again and again!

Given the times that I indulge into eating subs, sandwiches, or even simple club sandwiches in my daily routine I am difficult to impress when it comes for any food joint to play their sandwich-card! Therefore when I was invited at Sandoitchi for the tasting session – I was sure I am going to be critically examining the taste of doitchi they have to offer!

Doitchi? These are subs or sandwiches in Japanese. Therefore the name San Doitchi is actually ‘San’ meaning respect and ‘Doitchi’ i.e. sandwiches. Giving respect to the sandwiches in typical Japanese style – you know why I was so excited to critically examine the taste and get into biting the little wonders they make?

SanDoitchi is a new concept with an amazing menu style. They have brown paper bags for customizing your taste in sandwiches and delivering your orders in the same. Therefore you take them, tick your choices and place an order for it to arrive at your table.

The restaurant has a warm and comforting space which is entirely structured around wooden art, personal pictures and an amazing vibe which makes you feel good and fresh. A good aura to take your dates out on or even spend an evening reading a book. Plus they play great music too!

Their menu includes a lot of options for some cheesy snacks, baked desserts and even non-alcoholic beverages which are amazing.

I happened to try a lot of items from their menu.

Cappucino ~ Excellent brew of coffee with a creamy taste – Lives by the cappuccino you know of!

Hezpress ~ Double shot espresso coupled with hazelnut and vanilla is an amazing treat! Thick enough with amazing taste for the hazelnut lovers.

Jalapeno Joy ~ Cheesy Jalapeno poppers that are crispy from the outside and a burst of soft cheese with jalapeno from inside. A little spicy but delectable to taste.

Do Balls ~ If you are a fan of baked items, this simple dish will win your heart. The dough balls are baked dough with generous buttering and flavouring that makes you enjoy the taste of dough. Excellent!

Teppanyanki Noodles Mix ~ This is one of my favourites here. Oriental style noodles made on teppanyanki iron plate with grilled veggies and smoky flavor – totally work every fork.

Mediterranea Sub ~ I ordered for their signature Mediterranea Sub with fab falafel and this was one with an amazing blend of flavours. The bread was soft and deliciously cooked with an amazing sauces and toppings that made my experience a completely relished one. The falafel were fab and made for the crunchy yet soft bites I wanted!

Customized sub ~ I opted Mexicano for the customized subs and went for some of the random choices I could – and something went wrong with the taste. I enjoyed this one too but a little less than the signature one. And therefore the staff later helped me with the customization and made me understand the choice I went wrong with. Matching the flavours with the right veggies and patty is important here!

Molten lava cake ~ Easily one of the most heavenly experience for a chocolate lover and so was it with each bite I took! The gooey chocolate lava with a warmth was served with delicious brownie on the outside and it tasted like heaven! Highly recommending this one as this is freshly prepared after you place an order!

The supervisors, attendants and managers here are so welcoming that one shall have a pleasant experience. They helped me figure out the tastes, the kind of dishes and their taste variance and also explained how customizing sub sandwiches can be so easy and turn out good.

This is a pocket friendly place as one sandwich is enough to suffice your meal time that shall cost about only INR 500 for two. Therefore makes for an amazing place to spend mealtime on.

MyPlateReview Recommends: Definitely recommending this place to sandwich lovers, people who love molten lava chocolate cakes and also for their exclusive range of snacks. I happened to like their Dough Balls too much specially with the three varieties of condiments served to accompany them. Also, they have gluten free with being an ONLY vegetarian NON-ALCOHOLIC place!
