Happy World Book Day!
Isn't reading an enriching experience? Like you travel to some other world, in some other time, into someone else's mind and see a life progressing while just sitting and enjoying everything that happens!
Even when the life is not yours, the story isnt yours, the feelings arent yours - you feel it all so deeply!
How mere bundling of words and arranging them in certain order makes a story out of it and intrigues us to such heights that we even start making own sequels of them in our dreams! Hah!
As a child i was always made to cover my books with a newspaper or a brown cover paper that used to be the most chosen form of covers in most schools. I didnt get a point in keeping them covered and putting stickers on them then! I would tear some covers just because i liked the printed cover of books so much!
But then one day one of my favourite book cover was spoiled because of splitting of ink on it. Nothing seemed to clean the mess that had happened. Thats when mom stepped in to make me realize that if the books were covered the book would look as good as new always!
Needless to say henceforth all my books were seen in covers of brown, dark brown, yellow and even newspaper coverings. I liked them kept safe and new!
Also, i have been trying to keep up with my reading routine since quite a long time now. I read almost 2 books a month and it is like meditation to me!
World Book Day is a good time to remind yourself that there is a lot of books to be read, new characters to be met, writing to be celebrated and of course time traveling to be done into a world you have never known before!
