One of the evening food hacks i resort to is CORN ON THE COB!
Just boil the corn in water and add lemon juice, butter and some chaat masala. Voila! You have a mouth watering and healthy snack to binge on.
Yes i do some experimentation on it sometimes but the magic which a simple chat masala can do is unbeatable!
If you are wandering about the availability of 'corn on the cob' in food joints then yes, they are available widely! You do get the masala-fied boiled corns on the streets as well as several food joints!
Enter the streets of Delhi and you will across people boiling corn in little carts settled near the streets. They have all the masalas with them and they also customize it according to your needs. And is very light on the pocket too. Same is the case with Bangalore and Kolkata!
My eyes set on it when one fine day while shopping on the streets of Karolbagh, New Delhi i came across a man carrying a Jhola and some men made him stop. The jhola-man swiftly put his jhola down and took out a corn piece wrapped in its leaves and applied lemon+masala and sold them for 20 rupees. But before i could approach him, the jhola-man was nowhere to be seen. I wished to find this seller many times again in the market but couldn't. And then one fine day, i saw that cart and that very man was there standing and selling these corns, now with proper utensils with him. I happily bought one and took a bite. The spice and flavoring was so good i ended up eating two. And there grew my love for boiled form of corns, making Corn On The Cob-A FAVORITE!
If you still haven't come across a seller like the Jhola-man, you can also grab the cooked corn on the cob. The sellers peel off the corn and cook it on burning coal or sikhdi. And then they too apply some masalas and sell it at Rs. 10 or Rs. 20, based upon the availability prices.
There must be restaurants serving this particular delight, which i will update when i find more! Till then grab a piece, enjoy and share what you think with me!
:)
