Coffee, food
and conversations – that is how I would define THE COFFEE SHOP!
Siliguri didn’t
have much of cafes to sit and sip quality coffee while indulging into Italian
food in an ambience that promises peace and calm. The Coffee Shop has made its
entry as a perfect café to sit and have coffee in peace!
Although
located inside a mall that is quite crowded all the time, this café is nestled
as a perfect place to sit and relax. French style coffee house with wooden
furniture, soothing lights and a feel that makes you eat and drink in complete ecstasy.
Ambience: Beautifully
lit with red and yellow lights and Italian feel. While you look at the coffee
brewing in one corner, there is a live stage and different sitting styles to
enjoy the ambience. With a live display screen playing the music the mood
of the place is quite perfect!
Concept:
After successfully establishing itself as a pizza and coffee place in its two
earlier outlets i.e. Saket, Delhi and Gangtok, Sikkim – The Coffee Place is here
in Siliguri to serve quality coffee and food. Unlike the Delhi outlet this one doesn’t
have a live pizza counter but the freshness of the pizzas serves is still the
same. The sitting area is comfortable enough to let you spend hours reading,
talking or just eating your food.
What we
ordered: As part of Foodies meet I was there to taste their menu bests and
there were a range of dishes presented to us. Being a vegetarian I was offered
a few dishes like Arabiatta Pasta, Bruchetta Tomato and Pesto, Provencal pizza etc. We
were keen on trying the three basic specialties that ‘The Coffee Shop’ hoards
about i.e. Coffee – Pizza – Bakery! And so picked a few dishes to try on!
Café Mocha ~
Mocha is my favourite hot coffee! This one was brewed right in front of me. The
grounded coffee beans brewed and poured with chocolate sauce to give it the
richness of chocolate and creaminess. Taste perfect!
Fettuccini
Alfredo ~ Fettuccini pasta molded with Alfredo sauce, brocooli, Italian herbs
and hints of cream. This tasted excellent with all the mild flavours of herbs
like rosemary, oregano and chilli flakes.
Provencal Pizza
~ Absolute delight! Mushroom, bell peppers, Olives and Jalapeno in a pizza base
that was thin but soft! Loved how every bite felt perfection! I tried Provencal
pizza first at The Coffee Shop Delhi and absolutely loved it. This outlet too
serves the same taste – I love it!
Brucheta
Tomato & Pesto ~ Bruchetta served with pesto sauce, cherry tomatoes, basil
leaves and sour cream. The crispiness of the base paired well with the tangy
taste of the filling giving this dish an absolute taste. I would highly
recommend this one.
Chocolate
Pastry ~ This was an average dessert to go for! I did like the soft texture of
the pastry and cream but this didn’t have something to celebrate for!

Recommends: Siliguri finally has a place for dating, meeting old friends or
just sitting and having coffee. Read a book, sit for hours and enjoy their
delicacies which taste amazing. I would recommend their cold coffees and shakes
(they have been excellent and served well), Provencal pizza, pasta and of
course the Bruchetta!

When we were handed the beer menu I was impressed. Really nice selection of beers and ciders at venues in NYC. With 20 rotating craft beer lines, there is more than enough to choose from. This place is among the best around here.
