Fitness has always been a concern for
all! I would be lying if I said that I am sorted with my fitness goals. Being a
foodie does not favour your body much. With the numerous amount of dishes you
want to try and the uncontrollable urge to bite on an extra slice of pizza or
just one more piece of that mind-blowing dessert, fitness definitely takes a
back seat!
But recently things changed a lot for
me! Not only did I start paying attention to the kind of food I eat but also
started to take in ways in which I can balance my junks with the healthy
choices. And the best move has been to shift to a sugar-free diet.
I started with banishing sugar from my
morning cup of tea, cutting it off from my dessert palate and even not thinking
about anything that had sugar in it. But with the introduction of Stevia to me
things drastically changed. This one product here is ready to break all the
myth of having sugar-free or sugar less diets.
Stevia is a sugar substitute very
unlike the regular ones. Stevia being an extract from the plant named stevia
rebaudiana is a special sweetener which comes with sweetness without the use of
saccharine, sucralose or Asparame.
I had consulted a nutritionist once in
lieu of knowing if going sugar-less is more beneficial or sugar-free. She said
that using sugar supplements is as good as taking sugar, it’s better to go
sugar-less rather than use ‘sugar-free’ products. And as hard it could get to
sip on my tea without sugar, I was trying with all my power. This Sviten Zero
calories supplement is definitely the answer to all my needs. This does not add
up to the insulin levels and thus is a right choice for the diabetics too!
Calorie intake: Where normally a tsp
full of sugar has almost 16 calories, Sviten claims to be serving ‘zero
calories’ but if you look carefully at the ingredients and know about them
more, you can easily trace that it does provide some calories equivalent to
half the calories compared to 1 tsp of sugar. Therefore with sviten you can cut
down on half the calories that you get from sugar.
Perfect for diabetics: For knowing
this I had to read a lot about the ingredients and its effects on the insulin
levels and I can now actually say that Sviten supports the diabetics fondly. It
does not increase the blood sugar levels therefore making it easier for
diabetics to eat sweet without worrying on their sugar levels.
Side-effects: One cause of concern
that comes to my mind is that Sviten is made of Stevia which is known to have several
effects on you if you consume it in very large quantities. Shifting to this Stevia based sugar can be healthy but too much is bad too! You may feel nausea, uneasiness
or dry mouthed so it’s better you consult your doctor before using this one!
Gluten Free: Sugar does not have any
signs of gluten but if you are gluten allergic, this might just be the right
pick for you!
MyPlateReview Recommends: If you are
looking for sugar supplements which aren’t loaded with sucralose, saccharin or
Asphartame, has low calories, is diabetic friendly and gluten free – the answer
is Sviten! The taste was quite normal and I would advice using only minimal
quantities of it. (Consult the doctor!)
