Romance in a war - a tribute to the IAF - Baaz by Anuja Chauhan deserves all the love! #BookReview

You always know whats in for you when you pick up an “Anuja Chauhan Novel”. Famed to be one of the most celebrated Indian writer with love for heroes, Anuja Chauhan’s novels have always been surrounded by simplicity yet complex situations only to find a hero come out of it all!
But much unlike the 'Those pricey Thakur girls', 'The Battle of Bittora' or 'The Zoya Factor'.. Baaz comes like a breath of fresh air (by this we mean the air up in the sky!)

Baaz is a beautiful tribute to Indian Air Force and the nation’s soldiers in the words of Anuja Chuhan. A tribute that is forcing me to reveal the secret but I won’t! Although one thing that is worth sharing is that unlike other novels by Anuja Chauhan this one has a hero rather than a heroine. The story is set in the Air Force Flying College in Jodhpur where the farmer boy Ishaan ‘Baaz’ Faujdaar from the small town of Chakkahera, located in Haryana (earlier in Punjab) finds his ultimate Dhookk-Dhookk-Dhookkky! From enemies turning friends, a romance defying the rules and the spirit of patriotism awakened in the soul of the soldiers, the story is an account of the Bangladesh war of 1971!

As the war takes place and touches not just the Indians but the personal lives of all the soldiers fighting for it, the climax is a twist that you keeps you bound to each word!
The writing style is kept very friendly, full of twists and turns to let you sink into the story. The characters are well defined - have a charm of their own. Instructor Hosanna Carvalho making the cadets do the deeds Baaz-ke-maaphik, the buddies Raka and Maddy being the passionate posh students straight out of history books to writing her heroine with an attitude straight out of the Delhi University! Anuja Chauhan yet again structured her female character strong like ever by giving Tehmina Dadyseth (Tell-me-na) a fierce and bold woman with strong views and even stronger jaw line!

All in all the 430 pages of the book inspire you, romance with you while letting you feel how it is like to be a soldier on the field!
